1897
The engineer Max Joseph Heinzmann (1860-1943) founded the company. The original focus was on speed governors for combustion engines.
1920
A special centrifugal governor provided the breakthrough in 1920.
1937
Fritz Heinzmann (1892-1967) took over his father’s company and relocated it from Radebeul near Dresden to the Stuttgart area.
1980
HEINZMANN produced the first analogue governors.
1987
The company is acquired by Anton Gromer, who had been at the helm as Managing Director since 1967. The portfolio is continuously expanded in the field of engine and turbine management.
1990
The series of developments was rounded off by digital governors from 1990 onwards.
1992
HEINZMANN concentrates its scattered production facilities in a new plant in Schönau/Schwarzwald.
1994
Since 1994, HEINZMANN has developed and produced electronic fuel injection control units for electronic injection and control of common rail engines.
1995
HEINZMANN introduced digital control systems for ships, locomotives and industrial vehicles onto the market. HEINZMANN established itself as a partner to major engine manufacturers such as VW, BMW and MAK.
1999
Markus Gromer becomes the second generation of his family to be the owner and Managing Director of HEINZMANN.
2001
HEINZMANN began to deploy systems for gas engines, dual-fuel engines and generators.
2003
The British subsidiary HEINZMANN UK has been developing systems for the control of gas and water turbines since 2003.
2005
Complete common rail systems were launched onto the market.
2007
Exhaust management systems have been included in the product spectrum.
2007
The acquisition of REGULATEURS EUROPA saw hydraulic governors added to the range.
2010
The Norwegian subsidiary HEINZMANN Automation became part of the HEINZMANN Group, developing maritime automation solutions.
2012
Monitoring systems are developed for use in system and engine monitoring systems.
2014
HEINZMANN acquired a specialist in steam turbine control in the form of HEINZMANN Australia.
2016
The second generation of common rail systems were launched onto the market.
2017
HEINZMANN continued to further its innovative strength and developed modular ECUs.
2017
The electronic pump-pipe-nozzle control was developed, a complete kit for installation on diesel engines with single fuel pumps.
2018
The combined heat and power control XIOSCHP was launched.
2020
HEINZMANN acquires Giro Engineering, a manufacturer of common rail high pressure components.
2022
IFT GmbH, manufacturer of high-quality blow-by-filter technology, becomes a member of the HEINZMANN Group.
